Worker Killed In MGM Grand Hotel & Casino Accident
July 31, 2014
A worker was pushed through a third-story window and fell to his death in an accident at a construction zone at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, according to recent reports. The worker, 59-year-old Ricky J. Robinson, served as an audio/visual technician for MGM. According to eye witnesses, around 2:30 p.m. Robinson was unloading gear from the back of a cart when it somehow slipped into reverse and pushed him out of a third-story window. Other technicians ran to the scene, attempting to stop the cart. Unfortunately, they were unable to. Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident is currently under investigation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. MGM spokesman Gordon Absher released a statement: “A tragic accident occurred this afternoon at the MGM Grand Conference Center. A member of the MGM Grand team died after an accident that resulted in a fall from the third floor of the Conference Center building. The identity of the employee involved is being withheld pending notification of family. Circumstances of the incident are being investigated by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. MGM Grand is cooperating fully with authorities. OSHA has been notified. This is a difficult time and a devastating loss for our entire MGM team. The thoughts of our entire MGM team are with the family at this difficult time.” Robinson has been described by fellow workers as a fantastic, kind-hearted man who would do anything for anyone. The wrongful death of a family member is one of the most devastating events anyone could experience. While no legal maneuvers or rulings will bring your loved one back, civil justice can offer a finding of responsibility and potentially give you peace of mind. These rulings may also compensate the family for their losses, both economic and emotional. Despite the legal options one possesses in a wrongful death suit, it can be difficult to receive just compensation for your injuries without proper representation. High Stakes Injury Law of Las Vegas offer a wide range of legal services, including personal injury and wrongful death. With years of experience in personal injury and wrongful cases, the team at High Stakes Injury Law can aid you in gathering evidence, building a case, and fighting for your rights and just compensation. Rather than taking on a large establishment alone, utilize the experience and knowledge of the lawyers at High Stakes Injury Law.
